The Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) enables automated gear shifts without driver input. Two transmission modes are available for gear shifting:
- Manual mode "M": Gear shift by actuating the foot gearshift lever.
- Automated mode "D": Automated gear selection, taking into account the current riding situation. In automated mode, gear changes are triggered depending on the riding mode, engine rpm, throttle control and lean angle.
The ASA button on the handlebar can be used to easily switch between the Manual and Automated gear shift modes – even while riding.
In the standard setting, when you start the motorcycle, manual shift mode "M" is selected. Automatic mode can be selected by pushing the ASA button.
Regardless of the selected transmission mode, riding off and stopping is also controlled by the ASA. The rider benefits from smoother gear changes with reduced affects on traction during acceleration..
